Quaker Valley is teaming up with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve to make sure every child has a special holiday! Our Toys for Tots drive began on November 8th and runs until December 5th. We are collecting new, unwrapped toys and are encouraging our employees to help in any way they can.  This is Quaker Valley’s 3rd time holding a Toys for Tots drive.

Toys for Tots began in 1947 when Major Bill Hendricks’ wife, Diane, made a doll and asked him to give it to an organization that donated toys to needy children. They discovered no such organization existed, so they started one. That year, a group of Marine Reservists in Los Angeles collected and distributed 5,000 toys. Since then, the program has distributed more than 313 million toys to 151 million children. Fun fact: Walt Disney designed the Toys for Tots logo that is still used today! He also designed the first poster to promote the program.

Quaker Valley is very proud to support this great organization. Here’s to another successful drive!
